News Alert:Federal Charges Filed

Yet another Democrat has just been caught breaking the law, showing once again that the Democratic Party is incredibly corrupt.

Freedom Daily reported that former Alabama Secretary of State Nancy Worley turned herself into the Montgomery County Jail early Thursday morning after a grand jury indicted her on charges stemming from her unsuccessful campaign for re-election last year.

During the four years she was in office, Worley was slammed with numerous complaints ranging from criticism of her selection of a gas-guzzling SUV that the state paid for, to the number of employees who were unhappy working under her. The indictment states that Worley broke the law  when she wrote a letter to her employees in which she underlined the words, “I want to ask for your support and your vote in the June 2006 Democratic Primary Election.”

It’s considered unethical for an elected Secretary of State to ask the people who work under her for their vote. If she was actually good at her job and was a good candidate, she wouldn’t need to ask her employees to vote for her.

“Aside from it being illegal it just seems wrong for an elected official to request money or other kinds of campaign support from their subordinates because of that employer – employee relationship that could be coercive just by its very nature,” said Ed Packard, a former employee of hers.

He added that she sent other things to employees like a bumper sticker and an envelope to volunteer or request a yard sign.

“I didn’t have any reluctance to file a complaint because I believe it takes people standing up and doing the right thing if we expect the right things to happen,” he said.

Worley is facing five felony charges and five misdemeanor charges. Of course, she tried to spin this into a conspiracy against Democrats being perpetrated by Republicans.

“This is happening to Democrats throughout the country who don’t bow down to Republicans,” she said.
