The NFL and its protesting players have hit the league hard in the wallet. Now Bill O’Reilly has some words that will end the whole debate for good. As Daily Lightify reports, O’Reilly just put the final nail in the NFL’s coffin.
O’Reilly told the obvious truth: President Trump won this one. He’s shown the NFL that if you disrespect the anthem and tolerate players like this you’ll lose money and fans. When NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell saying he all players should stand during the national anthem it showed the simple facts: President Trump won.
“Like many of our fans, we believe that everyone should stand for the National Anthem. It is an important moment in our game. We want to honor our flag and our country, and our fans expect that of us. We also care deeply about our players and respect their opinions and concerns about critical social issues,” Goodell wrote in announcing the new rule. “The controversy over the Anthem is a barrier to having honest conversations and making real progress on the underlying issues. We need to move past this controversy, and we want to do that together with our players.”
Nonetheless, the NFL says players still won’t face consequences if they don’t stand. It’s simply that Goodell and the league believe they should stand. They don’t seem to realize that America’s patience has run out.
What do you think of Bill O’Reilly’s comments? Did Trump win this one?
